11 Nights in Tanzania – Nbongo Safari
Arusha, Tarangire, Manyara, Lago Eyasi, Ngorongoro, Serengeti, Natron e il Kilimanjaro
Day 1 – Kilimanjaro Airoport and transfer to Arusha city
After your arrival at Kilimanjaro’s airport there will be the Savannah Explorers guide waiting for you to take you to Arusha where you will be able to rest in Hotel or simply have a small look around the City.
Day 2 – Arusha Park
Let’s ride to National Park of Arusha! This day we’ll begin the photo-safari, visiting the local fauna and the typical landscapes of mountain-park, between mount Meru and Kilimanjaro.
Day 3 – Tarangire Park
Today’s destination is the Tarangire park where we’ll able to get in the hearth of the photo-safari. The park takes name from the Tarangire river, that divides it in two halves, famous for its herds of elephants, baobab trees and the african pythons, those are able to climb on trees.
Day 4 – Lake Manyara Park
The safari continues with the tour of the Lake Manyara National Park, one of the tanzanian parks with the highest biodiversity. In a surface of only 330 kmqs, those 230 are occupied by the lake, is possible to meet five different ecosystems. The park is inhabited from over 380 types of birds and a big number of animal kind among which elephants, buffalos, zebras, giraffes, leopards, lions, baboons, hippos, antelopes, warthogs and so many others.
Day 5 – Lake Eyasi
To the Lake Eyasi we will meet the Hadzabes and we will follow them during the hunting-session, then we will visit the Datoga tribe whose inhabitants are specialized in the workmanship of the iron. During the visit of the Lake Eyasi it’s necessary to wear well closed and comfortable shoes and long pants to avoid to get some scratches in the bush.Besides, in proximity of the lake, the ground is muddy… Pay attention to that…Risks of work, it’s said!
Day 6 – Ngorongoro Crater
Today the safari will be dedicated to the exploration of the Ngorogoro-crater and the surrounding area. This is of one of the most suggestive landscapes to the world, where we can admire the dormant volcano and the nature that surrounds it. In the park it will be possible to see the “Big Five”: elephants, buffalos, lions, leopards and rhinos, but you you should pay attention that, around that area, there are like 30.000 animals and a great variety of birds-species.
Day 7 – Serengeti National Park
Once reached the entrance of the Park you will have time to climb to the panoramic point near Naabi Gate where you will able to take a wonderful photo-memory. The photo-safari will continue in Serengeti and we’ll reach the lodge or the Tent-Camp for dinner. The Serengeti is the most famous park in Tanzania, known in all over the world for his boundless lowlands, the migration of the wildebeests, the prides of lions and the other raiders as hyenas, cheetahs, leopards, jackals and crocodiles. The ‘Serengeti’ words means “Endless Plain”. Really: the name couldn’t be more appropriate.
Day 8 – Serengeti National Park
This day will entirely be dedicated to the visit of endless lowlands of the Serengeti National Park, where we can meet wild predators as leopards, cheetahs and lions, but also the great herbivores for instance the wildebeests. The Serengeti National park is one of the main attractions of the whole Africa.
Day 9 – Lake Natron
Today we will say goodbye to the Serengeti with a last photo-safari while we are directing towards the Lake Natron. Along the road we will stop in various panoramic points from where we can admire the Rift Valley, Oldonyo Lengai, the lake and the surrounding panorama. If we have time we will be able to do a trekking-session to a fwater-all for a refreshing bath. We recommend for this occasion to use rubber sandals during trekking and custom from bath / shorts during the crossing water river. If we won’t have any time for this excursion, we will do the following day.
Day 10 – Lake Natron
Before breakfast we’ll visit the Lake Natron to observe the dawn to catch an unforgettable photo; here we’ll see the flamingos and an unique panorama in the most absolute quiet. Pay attention to your shoes, since the terrain is quite slippery and muddy. This day we’ll also visit a Masai boom to observe, closely, the Masai culture and traditions.After lunch we’ll reenter to Arusha just to have some other photos.
Day 11 – Kilimanjaro National Park
Savannah Explorers, for the visit to the Kilimanjaro National Park, will organize a trekking to the Mandaras Hut. We will depart from the gate to 1830 meters in proximity of Marangu village, a typical local village surrounded by plantations of bananas and coffee. So we’ll procee towards the Mandaras Huts (2700 meters) always accompanied by a professional guide. Once we’ll reach the destination, you can decide whether to continue to Maundi Crater or simply come back to the lodge. Also in this case, we will hurry the formalities for the access.
Day 12 – Kilimanjaro Airport and coming back to Home
The safari in Tanzania is ended, but before the coming back to Home you will able to spend some time in the city for some shopping.
